These are some concepts that creep up often in my art:
-
Creative Reuse
I believe all objects should be recrafted to the fullest extent. Loving objects that are discarded is the most powerful way to keep our community from overproducing new things. I try to use scrap fabric, yarn, paper, metal – really any sort of scrap to make my art.

Enemy of Perfect
If perfect is the enemy of good, let me become the enemy of perfect.
The projects improve, not by avoiding worse, but by inviting it in.

Fat Femme Representation
As a woman who has always been heavy, a lot of art and culture does not represent me and my beautiful life. I like to create art that celebrates bodies as they are, particularly representing bodies like my own.
-
Liminal Spaces
I’m fascinated by spaces that are between. Sometimes it describes a place that is both, sometimes neither. The space – that transformation – becomes the fascination. It’s less observed but more things. And every moment, place, feeling and experience is on the way to and from something else.

Ookie spooky themes and magical things
I’ve always been a little goth witchy. Although obviously tarot cards and stars cannot predict your fate, I’m a Scorpio and we’re very superstitious, so obviously I believe tarot cards and the stars can predict your fate. The skepticism and the belief intersect to a place where I exist in the world as if it is magic, because it is more magical if you buy in.
